Paint Me Naked formed in December 2016, when tracks of schoolmates Jannik Nitz and Mads Leander crossed again in a municipal spa in Cologne-Ehrenfeld. They began to write songs like they did in the past inspired by those wavepop bands they used to listen to and the nostalgia of old times. After some meetings in the attic of Nitz's flat, the band recorded some songs with different lead singers from the quarter but results weren't satisfiying. Great voices were seldom heard. Things changed, when Nitz started to attend a self-help group for long-distance relationsship sufferers in April 2017, which turned out to be a choir of student teachers called "Hardchoir" singing songs from The Cure. He secretly recorded the voices of Alina Baur and Simon Knopp who he considered to be the most talented voices he had heard for a long time and sent the tapes to Leander, who became addicted to the duo at once. Finally Baur and Knopp joined as lead singers, when the band finished recording their first songs in Nitz's and Leander's bedrooms. The Band released their first EP "Walls" on November 25th 2017. After Knopp left the band to work in the olive groves of Southern Europe, Baur, Nitz and Leander continued pushing the band’s sound to another direction influenced by Wave- and Dreampop from the 80‘s. The temporary result of this development is „Fantasy EP“. It was realeased in February 2019.
